I like to wonder what if there really wasn't anything to fear in the afterlife. and if there is a heaven or hell does either one really exist in the form we have laid them to be. i don't think hell is a place full of fire and choas but a place to redeem yourself and prepare for heaven.

consider this heaven and hell notion, or any aspect of Christianity, to be strictly symbolic of life itself- heaven and hell do not apply to death. Consider: the bible was written by humans, among the many things humans will never understand is what comes after death, no one religion can actually know, yet they claim to and most of the time their definitions of death differ, which leads me to believe they're all full of shit. (oddly enough when you eat mushrooms your body is being told that it's dying, in essence that would be the closest thing to a religious experience humans could ever have.)

if you are still bent on this topic, try reading the book Food of the Gods by Terrance McKenna- it's a very illuminating book about our true past and history of evolution (all revolving around drugs, heheh...)
